Magnolia Serenade- “Maggie” December 22, 2001—January 14, 2009 |
A retrieving machine, Maggie lived for land and water retrieves. She happily spent quieter time inside with the family, was a calm dog indoors, was very affectionate and was also a quick learner. She was a great dog with an attitude that was eager to please. She seemed to intuitively know what you were feeling and adjusted her behavior by it. She loved cucumbers, oranges and ate watermelon like people, by taking bites from one end of the rind to the other, leaving only the green outer skin. She was the one dog who would take her treat to a hiding place and bury it for enjoyment later. She would mix the food in her bowl with her nose to uncover the best tidbits of meat, veges or fruit and take mouthfuls of it and drop the pieces to the floor so she could pick out the best morsels first. She was an excellent mama, who not only took care of her puppies, but always made sure her human family was taken care of too. The tragic accident that took her life devastated all who loved her. Maggie was a loyal companion, who passed much too young, and will always hold a special place in our hearts. |

Four-M Lil’ Mali Child O’Maggie- “Mali” SR32888708 OFA8966 Hips– Good CERF– CB5914/23 PRA– Clear/Normal |
A retrieving fanatic, Mali’s number one happiness is retrieving, whether it be on land or water. She won’t quit and will keep going far longer than any dog or human. Her focus is intense and after every retrieve, she gladly drops the prize at your feet. At 68 lbs (when she’s not sneaking others’ food), she’s got correct form and an excellent head. When she’s not retrieving and exploring, she happily spends quieter time inside with the family. A very patient dog, she gets along well with other animals and children. Quite the snuggler and very affectionate, she has a happy, positive attitude that leaves everyone who meets her with a smile. |
